stats and slow connection. help please

hi guys, first post so hello all.

i've been with sky broadband (on their max Package) for about 2 years, speeds have always been ok considering i'm about 4km away from the exchange.
BUT recently the fastest speed i can connect at is 1023kbps, i used to get around 3800kbps which was pretty stable as well.

ive plugged the router into the master socket to get the stats, which are below.

      ------------------------------------STATISTICS--------------------------

      System Up Time 00:01:49
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 14 14 0 15 34 00:01:02
      LAN 10M/100M 362 0 0 790 0 00:01:46
      WLAN 11M/54M 506 379 0 1263 621 00:01:38

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1023 kbps 518 kbps
Line Attenuation 53.5 db 33.9 db
Noise Margin 15.8 db 10.0 db

can someone with a bit more knowledge than my slef shed any light. am i being capped? i've noticed that the nosie margins are a lot higher that i used to get.

these figures were taken from the master socket, and i get the same figures from the other bt sockets in the house.

thanks fore any help you guys can give.....

Just advice. everything above the ------------------------------------STATISTICS-------------------------
you should delete as there is a lot of personal info there you really should not be showing.
As for the stats, your snr of 15.8db is healthy, Sky default is 6.9db so there is scope for improvement.

Unless you are currently on DLM then you are capped.

Ring Sky and go through the troubleshooting, you need to get to CSTm they can manually adjust you details. Also, get them to put you on G.DMT, it will suit you long line better.

Re: stats and slow connection. help please

      thanks for the info guys,
i've filled in one of the online forms with a load of info, so if i get no joy i'll ring them in the next day or so.

do i need to ring to find out if i'm on this DLM? or is there another way of telling.

and with regard the g.dmt, how does it suit my long line better than adsl2? sorry for the questions, just being nosey...
