Monitoring Usage Allowence During Off Peak Times??

      Hello.

I would like to know do sky monitor the usage during off peak times because some ISPs who have usage caps only monitor during hi peak times and allow you to download and surf for as much as you want during off peak example over night.

      Thanks

      Yes,

Yes they will monitor all traffic, on and off peak (although there are no peak times on the LLU products).

You show you are on Base, if you exceed your usage, you will be upgraded to a higher package that is more suited to your usage.

      Thanks for the reply.

Can anyone tell me why sky have DRAMATICALLY! decreased there Usage for the 'Mid' users from 40GB to 10GB? That is a huge decrease of 75% which is masive. Even most light users who surf the web and listen to BBC Iplayer will use that up with in half a month. Also the web technology is getting greater with more interactive elements on websites that are also getting larger in size so even just surfing the web now takes up a lot of bandwidth.

I have got nothing against the service from sky broadband I just cannot understand why the MASIVE cut in bandwidth!!

They said that it was becuase most Mid users didn't use more than the 10gb but that doesn't make sense as if they wern't using it then why reduce the limit with all the bad feelings that it caused.

They obviously looked around and saw that they have a good lead on the competitors and that they could use it as leverage to get customers to upgrade to a more expensive package.

It will also encourage new customers to go onto it as well.

Because they have increased the download speed to 10mbps.
Because they say the average user uses less than that
      Because they can
I don't think it is any secret that Sky want everyone to move to Unlimited and this is one of the ways they use to force it. I think myself that Base users who have happily been using 4-5 Gb (and some a great deal more) a month for years, will be the worst hit.
