      Exclamation Disconnecting Issues

      I recently moved to Sky, and of course the connection has problems.

      The only gripe I have is that it constantly dips to a point were it disconnects for a few seconds then reconnects. I have heard that many other people have had this problem and the simple solution was to turn off the upnp.

      I have turned off my upnp (If that's what its called) and the connection was fine, for a few weeks.

      Now the problem has re - occurred, I have tried many other sites and If this fails to help then regrettably I am just going to change providers, would seem a lot less hassle for a alot more money.

      If anyone can help, I would be happy to provide details for my router ect, It seems pointless to go and find out if there is no response.

      If your connection goes. "Green i on your router (depending on model)" then its a problem with the connection. Check your "connection status" popup on the router and see if the connection has dropped out. If it has not then it may be a problem with your network. But if the connection does drop then it is probably caused by your phone line or internal wiring.

      Try your router in the test socket as explained here...

      Are you using wireless?

      The UPnP bug only applied to Ver 1 routers running the first firmware. It has not been a problem for years.
