You are syncing at the maximum for your package. Try changing the channel in the router or preferably, use a cable connection, rather than wireless.

If you ever thought of upgrading to sky unlimited package, you would achieve just about the max of 20Mb.
      You have very good stats.

Think they estimate the max speed would be 4mb, i dont really understand this.

I stay v close to the exchange and its a brand new BT line

If i upgrade to 20mb would this make a difference if they are saying 4mb estimate?

Sometimes the estimates, which they get from BT are out of date and are usually based on the BT Wholesale product not LLU.

You are currently synching at the maximum for your package at 10mb and your line length suggests you should see the full 20Mb if you upgraded. Bear in mind actual download speeds (also referred to as throughput) can be anything between 10-20% of the connection/synch speed.

As I have said before Sky really need to get their act together with their speed estimates. You expect them to underestimate a bit to keep themselves on the safe side, but this is ridiculous. The only problem is that if you have any sort of problem with your line which reduces your speed, the script readers in Tier 1 will look at the estimate and could quite easily say, 'you are getting what was estimated so we can do nothing'. That being said, your line should be more than capable of getting the full speed available on Unlimited, should you want to upgrade, irrespective of their ridiculous estimate.

maybe they set it to 4mb because thats the estimate. They probably dont realise hat you could get above 10. You could give them another ring.
