Moving from sky to 02 have i made the correct package choice?

      Hi all,

Signed up for 02 broadband lastnight and told them i wish to be on the STANDARD package, have i made the correct decision based on my sky router stats below???? I don't mind paying for premium package if i can get more than 8 meg but now i get the feeling when they start off my package my initial speed check could be altered lower as i went for the lowest package.

How does this all work please?

As a side note i am with sky still for my line rental and sky talk as the offered my free 12 months line rental and i told them over the phone and via my sky page i didnt want to change over to there network thingy i wanted to stay as i am....will this be ok?

Also how do i access my router stats on 02?

      thanks in advance

With those stats you should see the same speeds with O2 (maybe a fraction more) so no need to go onto their premium package.

As I said over on the sister site, you will not get over 8mbps connection with your stats so yes you are on the correct package.

Take the 12 months free line rental, Sky can't put you on to their new network because you'll be using O2 for your broadband, although make sure you've moved over first.

The access details are on the bottom of the router. User & pass etc.

To access the stats you have to use a different user and password (like a supervisor one). I cannot remember what this is but a quick Google should throw it up.

      Ok found it:-

Did you elect not to be moved to SVBN? If you have Sky rental you are liable to be moved, making your line incompatible with O2. Have you looked into this?

That's good, Good Luck with O2, others seem to like it.
