      New and just got connected

Hi all. Just got connected to broadband unlimited and just have a quick question if any could help.

Sky say my line should support speeds between 7-10mb. I done a broadband speed test and it never really goes above 3mb.

I then read that I should leave it for 10 days whilst they carry out various tests, but I logged onto mysky and went to broadband services and it says testing it not taking place.

Also logged onto my router and it says there that my line is pumping out 7 mb.

Am I just jumping the gun? Should I just wait to see if it gets better, or is there anything I could do?

      Cheers in advance

Please post your router stats, and yes you are jumping the gun a bit.

OK, so you're connected at just above 7mbps which is fairly average for you line length and is as much as you're going to get at the moment. What speedtester are you using, have you tried the one on this site?

Also, are you connecting wirelessly or via ethernet, try speed tests from both.

Also plug into your Test socket, link below, if you have one and post your stats from there. With your attenuation you should get 9-10Mb, but noise on your line is holding it back, using the Test socket will show whether your problem is internal and can be easily fixed.
