Sky Broadband only getting 512kb, line appears fine.

Hello, I got sky about two weeks ago. I have left it to settle down and according to MySky there are no tests being ran on the line.

The router is a Sagem so I cannot change the SNR and resetting router doesnt change the SNR

The Stats for the router are:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 512 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 39.5 db 21.1 db
Noise Margin 30.6 db 20.5 db

Now with these stats I should be getting a faster connection shouldnt I?

you should be getting 8 meg minimum with them stats, somethings gone wrong, i have higher line attenuation than you (longer line) and im getting 8 meg download and 890kbps upload, phone sky ask them to reconfigure your line because your only getting half a meg in the router, they should put your speed to around 10 - 11 meg download, and up to 1 meg upload

Contact Sky immediately and get them to look at your speed and something has gone wrong with the line training. After going through a few hoops they should put your through to CST to manually configure your connection.

Have you been turning your router off at night? It looks like DLM has thought something was wrong and has capped your speed down. As suggested phone Sky and ask them to reconfigure your line as DLM has left it crippled. You should get 10+Mb down and possibly 1+ up.

That may have something to do with it, DLM may have started before you got the router and without a connection may have thought there was a problem.
Best phone sky and ask them to restart the DLM process or manually configure the line.

DLM should be finished on your line now, a 10 day test is run to work out what your line is best held at

I would phone sky to manually configure the line as DLM has not worked correctly on the line.
