      New Connection - Poor Sync

      Hi guys.

I am a returning customer to Sky Broadband, we're trying to save a bit of money by putting things with Sky again.

When we used to have a connection, we had a sync of roughly 12Mb which stayed pretty stable.

We went live with Sky yesterday, found our old router this evening and plugged it all in, and noticed a sync of 4Mb, which doesn't budge on a reboot of the router.

I am a bit perplexed by this, does anyone have any ideas on who I should fire an email off to regarding this, as if I remember correctly, it's pretty hard to contact a technician at Sky without going through the whole callcenter first.

We're using top quality filters, ADSL Nation faceplates and XF-1E filters.

      Many thanks.

You are at the start speed for Sky Unlimited, DLM should start within the next 72hrs and will increase the speed over the next 10 days to get the best stable speed it can.

It should all be in your welcome letter.

Thanks for the heads up Smithy99, I'll keep an eye on the line sync over the next couple of days.

That looks a little high for the noise margin, you should see it settle around the 12.5 - 12mb.

Try not to turn off or disconnect your router over the next 10 days or so.

That is good for gaming, but don't you also use wireless which is useless for gaming

What's the procedure for reducing the MAX delays as boothy_08 speaks of?

You need to either send an e-mail using the KANA form on the Sky website or ring and speak to CST. Tell them you are a gamer and require your max delays reducing to 8.
