Am I another "victim" of DLM & what can I do?

First of all hello to everyone, Im new to the forum & it's my first post.

I have the sky "max" lol service which when it worked best gave be a downstream connection of approx 3200 kbps. I done away with their router and I use a Billion Bipaq 5400G wireless router.

About 25 days ago my speeds reduced significantly although the upstream connection has increased, here are my stats:

      Modulation: ADSL2
      Annex Mode: ANNEx_A

      Downstream Upstream
      SNR Margin : 17.4 10.5 db
      Line Attenuation : 60.0 37.0 db
      Data Rate : 2048 753 kbps

      Test Socket Results

      Downstream Upstream
      SNR Margin : 17.1 9.5 db
      Line Attenuation : 60.0 37.0 db
      Data Rate : 2048 753 kbps

      Test Socket with G.DMT Modulation

      Modulation: G.DMT
      Annex Mode: ANNEX_A

      Downstream Upstream
      SNR Margin : 15.0 7.0 db
      Line Attenuation : 63.0 31.5 db
      Data Rate : 2048 800 kbps

I only have 1 master socket with 1 phone connected to it. I have tried 3 brand new filters to no avail and cut back the incoming wiring a little and re-terminated the connections.

I always did have a crappy SNR but it didn't seem to be an issue, I always got about 320 - 340 kbps download speed where now im lucky if I get over 130 kbps.

I have tried the crazy technical help email form but they have not got back in touch with me, i really dont know what to do. I'm actually on the verge of changing to fibre optic 10mbit cable if this carries on.

Can anyone give me any advice e.g who to phone? what to say?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

      Stu

Your line looks like it has been capped with that rather high noise margin.

You need to phone sky and ask to be put through to CST, because you want the speed cap rasied and they should make a ticket number and put you through.

The number to ring is 08442 410 515

Being a bit thick... what does CST stand for, or should one just ask for CST?

Customer Solutions Team, I think. Just ask for CST.

That is much better, you must have a very clean line with that attenuation to get that speed. Looking good.

Perhaps the super Billion router is helping a little.

It just shows using the right router can make all the difference and keep it stable all of the time as well. Happy days.

I agree with the pair of you, a quality little router. Make no mistake Billion routers are excellent, their customer support is second to none and they dont cost the earth. Like many, i'd never heard of Billion but I would recommend them to anyone now.
