I think its by the upstream speed.

Mainly the reduction in your download speed and the increase in your upload.

If you do have the DG834GT, go here and click the Detailed Stats button. This will show what Mode you are on. Post them if you like, but leave off the 'Ping' part as it is irrelevant.-

Re: Half speed - has DLM knobbled me?

You are showing a fair number of errors for the short time the connection has been up.As a comparison, my stats show 8 CRC and 8 ES errors for a 4 hour period. These have an effect on the stability and speed of your connection. I am pretty sure you would be better off on G.DMT.

Going onto G.DMT will lower the line attenuation and speed up the connection.

Re: Half speed - has DLM knobbled me?

As you have the DG834GT you could install James' CU firmware, this allows you to change the mode from your router, instead of asking Sky to do it. It also contains a lot of other useful features you don't get in the standard firmware. You can get it from here -
      Community Updates for the DG834GT

Please read the accompanying notes before you use it. It is much safer and easier than flashing to standard firmware and still appears to Sky as a normal Sky router.

That's great - thanks - I'll try that firmware asap, hopefully tomorrow.

Re: Half speed - has DLM knobbled me?

I've downloaded and installed the firmware, also changed the mode to G.DMT. I'll post the stats after a couple of hours - I wonder if anyone could be so kind as to look at them for me?

      Thanks

Re: Half speed - has DLM knobbled me?

Well, I've been using the firmware (which installed like a breeze) for a few hours. I've re-set the router a couple of times because one of my kid's laptops couldn't get a wireless connection, which was weird. My wired connection worked flawlessly, my iPhone's wireless connection likewise, just this one dumb laptop kept dropping, each time fixed by a re-set.

Anyhow, here are the stats - any comments?

Oh, and where can I download the Sky firmware that I just replaced, should I want to? Did a forum search but couldn't see it?
