      Being honest, I'm not sure of the complete technical side between the two, but basically they are two different line codes/modes that can be set on your profile which differ in frequencies. The rule of thumb is that g.dmt is usually the preference for lines that cannot get 8mb+ and lines that can manage 8mb+ due to a short attenuation (line length and quality from the telephone exchange) will push out more on adsl2+.

      I'm sure someone can chime in and tell you it a bit more technical if need be.

      Alright, I get cha', is there anyway to see what I'm on now? like adsl2+? or g.dmt?

      OK, before phoning anyone up please remove the front off your master socket and remove any wire connected to the terminal marked 3. This is the ring wire and is a broadband killer, removing it should give you an increase in speed.
