      That is the big benefit of the filtered faceplate, much better than the microfilteres.

      Just put an order through on ADSL Nation, so hopefully I'll get it sorted by the middle of the week!

      Me again!

      Just installed my XTE-2005 Faceplate and here are the Router Stats:



      As you can see, it's still a big difference between my test socket. The Noise Margin fluctuates so I wouldn't take that as gospel.

      Is this a case of bad wiring?

      Plug the router straight into the faceplate. Do you use an extension for the router if you do then I would recommend uding cate for best performance.

      I think the router is plugged straight into the faceplate (no microfilter)... The extension cable is about 4 foot long. What's cate?

      Put your connection back into the Test socket. If the figures improve, ie your speed goes up, you may have a faulty plate. Alternately, the plug on the plate may not be making proper contact with the socket. Try pushing it in out out a few times to remove any dust etc which may be effecting the contact. A small squirt of WD40 helps if you have it.
