      Help - Sky BB active but no sky router

      Hello

      Having a disaster with.

      I was cut off from my previous supplier on 6th October, Sky went active on 7th. To date I have not received the sky router. It has been on order since 7th September.

      I keep being told that 3-5 working days. I have even asked for one to be sent via courier but sky will not budge. Very frustrating.

      Does anyone know of anyway that I can configure my exisiting netgear router so that I can have access to the internet.

      Or any suggestions in how I can persuade Sky to help resolve this problem - especially now there are postal strikes going on just about everywhere.

      I have had to go purchase mobile as a temporary measure.

      Any help will be much appreciated

      Sorry to hear about your problem. However the routers as yet are not being delivered by Royal Mail and such should not be effected by the Postal strike. There are threads on here that will explain how to use your current router, but it is against the terms and conditions of sky

      Hi

      Thank you for your reply.

      I have been told by sky that royal mail delivers the routers. Maybe sky really have no idea.

      With regards to breaching the T&C of sky I think they have already broken them by disrupting my service i.e cutting me off and not providing a router which is causing me considerable inconvenience.

      I have read some of the threads, and not ever having had to do something like this before I dont know where to start, and which thread applies to my circumstances.

      Get back in contact with Sky. As far as I know charging for BB starts when you connect with your router, so it is in their interest to get you a router as soon as they can.

      Yes you would have thought so but sky are not budging on their procedures. Have tried them again, they now say it should be with me by Tuesday - here is hoping.

      Confirmed with them also that Royal Mail deliver the routers too.

      Brand new routers are sent using royal mail and there slow even when there
      not on strike

      Replacement routers are sent using Parcel Force 48hr via Unipart

      There were some stock issues recently which stopped routers being sent for a few
      days but these were resolved and shipments started again Thursday just gone.

      And T/C's aside, no you cant use your own router as you havent got the Sky one yet to extract
      the user/pass from.

      You could always buy a spare Sky router from e-bay for a few 's, that should work at least for the time being.

      You cannot use your own router without the username and password which is built into the Sky router, so until you get it you cannot get it out

      Just made some enquiries ... In some parts of the country we are now delivering the new routers, as part of our tracked next day delivery, meaning the item can be tracked across our network at all times. These items are not affected by our strike action.
