      3200 KBs To 300 KBs

      Hi Everyone,

Over the weekend my broadband speed has dropped to a tenth of what it should be, i have the same setup ive had for 2 years with no problems. I changed the filters and checked the connections and all is fine. I don't download much so i shouldn't be capped.

I phoned Sky and they asked me if i'd done the above ^^ they then said the LAN in my area was running at less than half a meg and hopefully it should be sorted within 48 hours & if not i should phone back. That was 24 hours ago.

Anyone reckon ive been fobbed off? Or should i give them the benefit of the doubt??

      Cheers

      cvimes

Looks like your line has DLM running on it, certainly ADSL2+, but it is possible there is a fault at the exchange. I would call them back and find out what is going on. Your very large noise margin shows that you are heavily capped. Ask them to manually configure your line.

Re: 3200 KBs To 300 KBs

      Thanks for that.

I'll give them a buzz back tomorrow. Its strange that it suddenly happened. I had a few problems when they did a dlm recently and my internet constantly cut out while they did it, that was completed on the 18th of August though. When i log in to my sky broadband it doesn't mention a line test only that one was completed on the 18th of Aug & my line should run at 3 Meg.

First problem in 2 years, so i'm hoping it is an exchange fault!

Re: 3200 KBs To 300 KBs

      Update**

Phoned back today, got to the 3rd tier...Ooooooooh.

Girl with a lovely Irish accent

Said there is a definate problem and is running another line test. Should be back up to full speed within 10 days apparantly.

The LAN problem excuse must have been total ****** by the first tier the other day.

      I now live in hope!
