UPDATE - taken offs the faceplate, and plugged the ADSL straight into the test socket using a filter thing, results are
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2208 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 59.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 7.7 db 24.0 db
So its not the faceplate or wiring thats causing the loss now. Could it be the length of the cable going from the test socket to the modem.....its 20M long

Can you use the standard cable that came with your router for this test?

Well I'd still be concerned about a 20m RJ11 cable, particularly if it's of dubious quality. You'd be better off with a short RJ11 and and a long ethernt cable instead or maybe homeplugs. I'm assuming you don't have a wireless adpater for your PC.

I have to agree with Neil, 20 m is stretching it with what looks like low quality cable. What I suggest is that you temporary move the blue/white/blue wires from the 2 and 5 terminals on the faceplate to the A and B terminals. This will give you ADSL at your phone extension. See if there is a difference in your stats.

Don't forget you already have a short RJ11 - the one Sky supplied one, all you need is the long ethernet cable.

One of these extension kits may be more suitable, especially if you want to site your router near you PC and or console.
