Broadband Mid - Has it Always had a Usage Allowance?

      Hi all,

Had Sky broadband for a while now. when I took it out it was called the 'Mid' package and was 5 a month.

My question is, they are calling the package 'Everday' now and have told me I only have 10GB limit per month.

Has the 5 package (when taken with phone) always had this limit. I'm bound to go over this per month.....

It's always had a limit, historically as Mid it was 40Gb.

The limit has never been enforced, but this looks to be changing in Q4 2009.

But how can they justify reducing download limits, but charging the same.

10GB is nothing. I'd go over that most months. II think i use around 15GB per month.

They don't have to justify it. As you've been a Mid customer for a while you should really have received a letter outlining these changes and giving you the option to either upgrade to the Unilimted package or cancel the contract and move elsewhere. Which is what quite a few, myself included, have had to do.

Nah, definately had no letter. This is the first I have known when I got an email regarding usage allowances.

I just can't see how they think 10GB is fair. 95% of poeople must exceed this.

      Who have you gone with?

they look like they are tracking BT with their drop in bandwidth allowences.

They say by 2010 the Broadband will be making a profit, which means they have taken the focus off customer numbers and now to the bottom line.

So I geuss they don't care if they lose a ton of customers as the now have less than a year to be profitable.

      O2 is fab

When I signed up online the mobile number I gave didnt appear to reduce my monthly charge,

One quick call to the FREE support number (which was answered in seconds) and a very helpful chappie has sorted the issue out.

Over the next few days I got a flurry or txts and emails informing me of the progress.

I synch on sky at a regular 5mb down and 600kb up on O2 I synch at 6.7mb and 1.2mb up plus there is a cashback deal thru quidco and you get 2 mnths free.

Its a great stable connection hope that helps

      What he said

I think it's 3 months free now and I also believe the Quidco deal is now gone up to 100 cashback. I'm on their Standard package, if you're not already an O2 customer all you need to do is either go PAYG and topup at least 10 every 3 months to get their customer discount.
