Re: Very poor speeds. Seeking help

Still cant find my sky router, haven't seen it for years, will sky supply me with a new one if i ask nicely? I Found a linksys router that we bought and could never get to connect to the internet been trying to get it to work all day but with no luck.

I found this pingtest thing that claims to test your line quality.

I dont know how well it actually works as a test for line quality, anyone know if its anygood?
If i do have a poor/faulty line what can i do about it? Would i have to get the thing rewired? and how much would that cost?

Thanks for all the help so far.

I would not trust anything that comes out of the speedtest.net stable.

Unless you are getting noise on your voice line, there is not much chance of getting anything done about it. You could ask Sky to get a broadband check done on your line, but they are reluctant to do this sort of thing, due to the cost.

I don't think Sky will be very happy if you tell them you have lost your Sky router.
