The stats are the same almost for both normal and test socket. Cant post at the moment because im at work. But My upload is the same if not faster than my download!

      Its about this tho

      connection speed - 331kbps 378kbps
line attenuation - 70.1db ??cant remember??
      noise margin - 12.1db 11db

1 more thing.......my pings in game servers have dropped about 40ms. Which i am chuffed with, but not at the expense of all my speed!
i cant stream any videos or download anything quickly, its driving me mad.

      Thanks.
You've been put on adsltwo+ and your max delays reduced (more than likely) meaning your attenuation rises and sync lowers in some cases on long lines such as yours. You'll need to get through to CST and have it configured (man, it looks like I'm replying to all these threads with an automated message saying the same thing today ).

well why are sky ******ing it up for everybody? i just want it back to normal. I was happy with 1.6!!

      iv got this info.

      1. Ring and ask for max delays reduced
      2. Ask for a ticket to be raised for high ping times.
      3. Ask to be put through to CST.

      Will this work?

BTW - thanks for the reply, this forum is great.

Correct-a-mundo. Tell the tier 1 to specifically raise a ticket for 'up front checks - high ping times' and get the ticket ID. You'll be passed to CST (no idea what the queue is like at this time) and sorted if you just ask to configure the line back to g.dmt (hopefully).

Thanks mate, im writing all this down.

I will wait in the queue all night if I have to. These speeds are unacceptable.

I have been so impressed with sky over the past few years. I feel extremely let down by them just lately.

      Appreciate you checking back.

No probs at all. Line training is annoying for some lines - I've witnessed it do good things for previously rather unstable lines and capping where necessary etc. but there's other times where it simply does not leave lines that have no issues at their best ability. It isn't meant to find the best speed, it simply determines what speed your line is best stable at.

I believe you should perhaps get straight through to CST at this time after tier 1 transfers you. If the agent is reluctant to change anything on your profile and tells you you're getting your max attainable already, prompt the agent to at least try a few profile changes such as the line code and sync rates.

Let us know how the calls goes.

I certainly shall do that. Hopefully we can all get sorted. Watch this space, I hate being at work when I need to be on the phone. God bless internet forums!

I have been doing that for weeks. One poster reported that he was told his line was to long for ADSL2+ and I had hoped the lesson had sunk in, but this does not seem to be the case. They are still putting lines on ADSL2+ which have no hope of running it. To paraphrase a Pete Seeger song, "When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?".

You have been put on ADSL2+ because it shows the true attenuation which is 70db, you need to phone them and ask them to put you back onto G.DMT becuase your line does not seem to like ADSL2+, this is happening to alot of people on long lines and causing problems it should be better but most of the time it isn't, that should sort the slow speed out.
