I've phoned sky today and they said that there is testing going on my my line and that i should call back it 10 days, sounds very sus to me as on my sky it states that there is no testing currently going on. Added to the fact that this problem has been going on for ages not just in the last few days. What does anyone else think?

The MySky web page is notoriously out of date so if Sky tell you that DLM is happening on your line then they're probably correct.

I think the Sky agents are using 'your line is undergoing training' as a fob off. It is any easy way to get the user off their backs. If I were you I would call back, don't tell them you have called before and see what the result is. Just tell them you found you had a faulty filter and would like your line put back to its original speed. Plenty of others have had the training stopped on their line when it was obviously doing no good, so even if your line is training a good agent will see that and fix your connection.

Protocols change all over the show, but CST are 'advised' to let training periods run their course without suspending them and manually reconfiguring or they'll get a 'slap on the wrist' type thing. It depends what agent you'll get through to - just get back on the phone tonight and get a ticket raised (just tell tier 1 you'd like your max delays configured) and hopefully you'll get onto a CST agent willing enough to suspend DLM and sort you out in a matter of minutes.
