      It doesn't have a back-box but it was brand new and these ones have the bell wire removed: NTE/NTE5/NTE5A BT/OPENREACH TELEPHONE MASTER SOCKET on eBay (end time 15-Sep-09 00:24:29 BST).

      The guy I spoke to did mention that the BT Iplate can help increase performance if I have a lot of phone sockets in the house
      All the iPlate does is filter the ring wire. The same effect can be obtained by removing the wire from terminal 3 on the faceplate. If you have a BT Openreach branded faceplate on your master socket it will already incorporate a ring wire filter. An ADSL filtered faceplate is a far better buy, provided you plug the router into it.

      If you have not already done so, plug into the Test socket and take your stats from there. That will establish whether it is worth fitting a filtered faceplate or not.
