      Can i get 20mb? currently at 16mb

      hi i have a 834gt running v1.03.87 firmware with the following stats:

      Code:
      ADSL Link  		Downstream  	Upstream
      Connection Speed 	15955 kbps 	764 kbps
      Line Attenuation 	28.0 db  14.8 db
      Noise Margin 		7.4 db 		16.0 db
      Sky Unlimited with Sky Line Rental

      is it worth ringing sky to see if they can up the line to 20mb with my stats?

      doubt you'll get it, your SNR is already abour default...unless you've a test socket not in use and the SNR increases there's no point calling...

      You're pretty fortunate to get 16mbps, I don't think you'll be able to achieve 20mbps with your line attentuation. As the previous poster suggested if you got an NTE5 master socket then plug your router into the test socket and post the stats from there.

      Do i remove the faceplate and plug the filter into the mastersocket the plug the router into the filter? as you cant directly plug the router into the master socket as it a phone type socket?

      Thats Correct remove the faceplate behind you will see the Test socket
      Connet Microfilter to this Test socket then routers cable to that filter and repost
      your line stats.

      as you cant directly plug the router into the master socket as it a phone type socket?
      You can if you use the cable from your Sky digi box.

      You are getting as much as your line will take unfortunately. With a normal line you really need an attenuation in the low teens to get anywhere near 20 Mb.

      You have not been through DLM training yet, this could make a difference, but it could set your line lower.

      I'm amazed that you can get 16mb, I live in Ivybridge and Sky say the line can only get 3.5mb, in reality the max. I get is 0.75!
