There is not much point in fitting a filtered faceplate on the master socket unless you intend to use it. If you intend to use an extension then you can replace its faceplate with one of these-
      XTF-68/85 - Pre-filtered Telephone Socket - ADSL Nation

You should phone Sky and ask them to increase your speed. They will then tell you whether you are on DLM or should wait for it to start.

Another question, would it make much difference (apart from aesthetics) fitting something like the XTE-2005 faceplate?

      Cheers.
You would not get any difference in speed, but something like the XTE 2005 faceplate would remove the need for microfilters at every phone socket you use and lets you have a dedicated internet extension, which completely seperates the phone and internet signal from each other and makes a tidy job.

      Thanks IsItMe,

Phoned Sky and you were quite correct, DLM is currently underway and should be completed within 10 days (started on the 8th). If only they tell you this when you upgrade.

Anyway thanks to everyone for all the responses.

Don't forget to post the stats after DLM has finished, and keep us up to date on any changes in speed.

      Hi Again,

I gave Sky the 10 days for the DLM and nothing changed. So called them again and DLM finished on the 11th. So I got pushed through to 2nd level support and he turned DLM off and now these are the stats on my router.

      Noise Margin

      So things are looking peachy.

      Cheers

Just moved the router back to the extension (sky asked for it to be plugged into the master) and it's reconnected as 16000.
