DLM may be running on your line and comparing your stats with your previous ones, you have been put on ADSL2+. Phone Sky and ask them to suspend DLM on your line if it is running and return your connection to G.DMT as ADSL2+ is crippling your connection.

Depends on many factors. If your physical set-up is spot on, internal wiring fine and have a quality external line then I'd suggest around 3-4mb as a rough estimate.

      Re: speed change

Well Sky have today confirmed that I am indeed on DLM, nice of them to tell me as the Mrs has a habit of turning the router off, will be interesting to see if they make much of a change, the guy at Sky was sure I would receieve a minimum of 3mb.... believe it when I see it.

thasnk for the helps on this guys

With your present connection speed and noise margin, I doubt it too, unless you are switched back to G.DMT. Have you checked the stats in your test socket, if you have one?
