      super slow internet

      Hey all, was wondering if anyone could help me with a few questions regarding my Sky Broadband service.

      I recently changed from AOL to Sky, with AOL i was getting a speed of around 3Mb, I was connected to Sky on the 2nd of September, and since then i have been getting speeds of about 0.10-0.20 for download and upload according to speedtest.net, but when i check my router settings im getting 7000+ download, and 400+ upload. Does this have anything to do with the Sky 10 Day stabilization period? (Is this really needed?) Or is it just to make people stay on past the 8 day cancellation period? I'm worried that if i wait the 10 days, i wont be able to cancel my contract and my speed will be terrible.

      ADSL Firmware Version 7.03.01.66
      Modem Status Connected
      DownStream Connection Speed 7616 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 448 kbps
      VPI 0
      VCI 38

      any ideas on what i can do?

      Unfortunately you''ve chosen Sky's hash of a BT product and you're getting heavily throttled. Read this (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users

      As others have said leave now or face months of misery. Check to see if your exchange has any LLU providers available - SamKnows Broadband - Availability - Broadband Availability Checker

      Choose one of these if available, if not go for a better ADSL provider such as Plusnet or Eclipse who are not so draconian with their approach to traffic management.

      Hi if you show you exchange on your next post also heres a list of ISPs Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that offer broadband services in the United Kingdom : if you have any ISPs with LLU on your exchange they are what you need to look at plus Customer comments

      Run as fast as you can andf cancel it!!!!!!

      Ive not really had a problem with it until the past month or so, when my speed can drop from 6500Kbps to as low as 5kbps!

      Im currently on phone to them to find out if they'll give my a discount on the 17 a month or let me migrate elsewhere free of charge!
