      Stupidly slow speeds...

Hi, I'm finding my internet extremely slow... Close to the poitn where it's unbearable any more.

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 392325 428288 0 2418 1257 4:34:51
      LAN 15 0 0 0 0 5:00:17
      WLAN 536832 495367 0 2119 3154 4:59:52
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2592 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 58.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 10.0 db 18.0 db

But the actual speed to my download is about 40 KB/sec.

I play on a game server, and wherever I go, I get insanely high packet loss...

I'm on wireless, but I've tried with both the test socket, and with it wired.

Those stats are from the test socket with the Ethernet cable.

Weird thing is, it's fine between after midnight and before 10 AM.

This happened after I formatted XP for the first time on a new computer, and after I phoned up Sky it fixed it for a couple of days, then it was back to normal.

      I normally get 300 KB/sec and upwards.

This has being going on for about a year now.

The answer to your problem is that you are on Connect, not one of the LLU packages. Have a look at this thread and others concerning Connect-

So the only fix is to leave Sky?

      I can live with that.

That's about it. Unfortunately you have little choice in Kirkliston, which only has BT resellers. If you are a gamer then Plusnet are probably your best choice as they have special packages for gaming.
