      Reduction In Speed.

I have had a solid 8mb sync speed for the last 4 years but this week something has changed! My upload speed has gone to 600kb but my download has dropped to just over 6mb. I have done some checks and found massive CRC errors due to a crap phone extension lead my brother had plugged in upstairs. I have removed the dodgy lead and rebooted the router but cant get back to my previous sync speed? Have Sky reconfigured the line ????

After DLM completes you should have a solid 10Mb

Just remember to keep your router powered up at all times till it completes. The Broadband details in your MySky page should tell you this, but it does not always work too well.

      Re: Reduction In Speed.

Thanks for the replys guys. Should I see any change's during DLM i.e. the router re-syncing and trying different speeds or will it just stay at 6144 until the end of DLM? whenever that is because I am unsure when it started

      Re: Reduction In Speed.

Would this happen to be affecting everyone then ?
I looked on Easynets page Easynet > Support Portal > Status Information
and noticed that an orange dot which represents Intermittent Outage
is right near the top next to Network Connectivity.
Im actually hoping it is this which is affecting my service and not this
ADSL TRANING crap I have no idea of. Also I keep getting very annoying
prompts to enter my password to sign in. Could this all be a possible cause
due to the DLM of which you mention ?
      Cheers.

Normally the upstream speed is fixed first then the downstream. With a normal line your router will resync during the early hours and will increase your upload/download sync until it reaches its best stable speed. It may go immediately to your best speed as yours(10Mb) will be below the maximum your line could handle, only time will tell.

      Re: Reduction In Speed.

Well my sync speed seems to have settled at about 5mb, and there hasn't been any change for the last 5 days, my downloads speeds have almost halved. I don't think I can really be bothered trying to get Sky to sort this out and might take the opportunity to jump ship to O2. Anyone been through this process and have any idea how long the down time is likely to be?

Request a MAC (do not cancel) and give it to O2.
