Could you post the stats from the tets socket, does the noise margin go up.
As already pointed out, this is a waste of time as the OP is getting the maximum connection speed with a good noise margin.

He is on Connect, pure and simple.

He should check his details in the Broadband section of his MySky page.

is it possible i am beeing badly throttled?
      Yes!

Why would you say that, by ringing Sky, which it looks like he has done, they'll be able to confirm one way or the other what package he's on, regardless of what we can tell him.

      Yes!
So being on connect package makes your noise margin smaller than on the LLU packages. I thought that the SNR would be the same on both.

True, but if the SNR can be higher then why not get that, as it would make the connection even more stable and would never disconnect. But i know it wouldn't make sany difference to the speed as it is maxed.

He is not complaining about disconnecting, he is complaining about download speed.

I know that, I am just saying that if there is more SNR there why not get it, if i had more SNR i would want to get it even if i was at the max speed for the given package.

First things first, let's help the guy get his speed issue sorted out before confusing the issue regarding test sockets, SNR margins, stats etc.

Hi are you quite sure that you are on Sky Mid/Everyday. The reason I am asking is the upload of 448kbps is a Bt re-badged product which on Sky is the Connect package

Hi I think 4pm till Midnight Monday to Friday and all Weekends till Midnight and for on line gaming the connect package is no good. There is a lot of ways to see what package your on I think the easiest for connect is put your exchange on a post or put it in the box SamKnows Broadband - Availability - Exchange Search and you will be able to see if there is any LLU at your exchange
think ive got some arm bending to do to get upgraded an package
The Sky Connect package cannot be upgraded unless you have Sky LLU at your exchange sorry about that
