      Sagem Router latest firmware ?

My sagem router has version 1.9. Is this the most recent? I have been back and forth on the phone with sky support to try to figure out what's going wrong with the router which has become unreliable ( suddenly starting and stopping working for no apparent reason.) Sky support said it was down to old firmware , but at the time the router was acting dead so I could not login to it. They asked me to put the original sky broadband setup CD, but I can't find it, so now I have to wait for them to send me a disc before calling them again. In the meantime I am writing this whilst the router has sprung to life again!

      thanks

T'is indeed. The old firmware is 1.5 I believe.

Don't hold your breath on the disc fixing this. You'll be led through the firmware upgrade/restoration process and the router will not be recognised and thus restoration/upgrade will fail and a new router will be sent out.

Edit: I think sky have maybe changed procedures in that they are now sending out 'version 4' CDs to try and resolve the whole bricked router situation that a lot of people are having, but it still won't work and a replacement router will need to be sent out with a new power cable. Ring back tonight and suggest to the agent that sky's procedure on bricked routers is to send replacement routers, NOT CDs. (This is, as I say, unless the procedure has been changed recently, but for a couple of months now it has been to send replacement routers and not CDs for bricked routers).

You could tell them it has stopped 'acting dead' and has now passed away, as the power light is not even coming on.(it wont if you upplug it)

It may save a lot of too-ing and fro-ing when what you need is a replacement router.

Re: Sagem Router latest firmware ?

      That sounds like a plan!

I presume from the reply that this is a common issue with this kind of router. Various configurations led's on the front lighting up....all 4 ethernet port lights illuminated, nothing plugged into any of them.

(router still working at moment that's about 3 hours up time....longest without bombing out for about a week.....)
