Re: Modem Hanging
Some of the Sagem routers have an issue where they will drop out and start asking for a password. Have you had this happen?
Are your Homeplugs plugged straight into the power socket? These can have problems running through an extension.
An alarm, if you have one, usually needs a special filter. The standard filters do not always work well. It is hard to see how this would be the cause if it worked OK before.

Re: Modem Hanging
Yeah, its a sagem router, It's dropped a couple of times before and asked for a password but when the browser gets closed then re-opened it's fine.
Plugs are inserted into the wall sockets, not extensions. House alarm isn't plugged into the phone system.
It seems it's an issue with my homeplug. Where the computer was sited before there was no digital aerial line or telephone line running along the same location and it worked fine.
I've disconnected the aerial and I'll disconnect the extension and try it again just in case it's errors from crosstalk. Will post results when it's done.
Just had a thought that the room I'm using the homeplugs in now might be wired as a spur rather than a ring main. Anyone know if the difference in impedance would affect data transfer? As far as being a spark is concerned I'm a noob.
