      Stats check

Going off the following would you say my line has been upgraded without me being informed ? The sudden increase in the upload speed kind of alerted me that something had happened.
My upload was ALWAYS at 764 or thereabouts. The router is not running on Sky firmware, and by tweaking the SNR value I can get a higher d/load speed. I have checked everything internally and no difference can be achieved via the master socket.

      Mode: ADSL2+
      Channel: Fast
      Trellis: ON
      Line Status: No Defect
      Training Status: Showtime
      Down Up
      SNR (dB): 6.7 7.3
      Attn(dB): 44.5 25.1
      Pwr(dBm): 18.3 12.6
      Max(Kbps): 6352 1047
      Rate (Kbps): 5291 1044

When I was with Bulldog LLU service I used to get around 7.5 with no problems.

      Cheers.

Sky Base should be capped at 2mb so yes, maybe DLM has made an error.

That was not what your profile said a few minutes ago

Log into your My Sky page and have a look if line testing is active. If it is, do not reboot the router during this period as it may see this as a problem and reduce the speed.

I only just noticed my profile and adjusted it accordingly, sorry.
I have posted about this before. I have been with Sky a couple of years and EVERY time I log into that the service is ALWAYS unavailable.

      Re: Stats check

With your current SNR that's the best speeds you can currently get on ADSL2+. Try connecting to the master test socket, if you have one, and repost the stats from there.

Really ? Well after tweaking the SNR % level in the router software I now get this :

      Mode: ADSL2+
      Channel: Fast
      Trellis: ON
      Line Status: No Defect
      Training Status: Showtime
      Down Up
      SNR (dB): 4.4 7.5
      Attn(dB): 44.5 25.1
      Pwr(dBm): 18.6 12.6
      Max(Kbps): 7232 1051
      Rate (Kbps): 6002 1044

The test socket that I tried made no difference to my original stats. However by altering the SNR % in my router firmware you can see a definate increase. I have been monitoring it and the connection stays solid as before.

I said with your "current" SNR, you didn't mention anything about being able to tweak it.

If you can hold onto the connection with that SNR then all's good.

You may find that in the evening with that SNR your connection may drop and connect at a slower speed.
