What are you on about m8?

I asked if anyone received this email.

I know about dlm, And i know sky say they went from 16mb to 20mb but that only affects people that like like 1km from the exchange.

I wanted to know, is sky doing any other upgrades that would help me living 3 miles from the exchange as received this email.

The upgrades are more than just an increase in download speed for those that live close to the exchange. DLM is a big part of it, as it upload speeds.

Re: Sky's new faster BB email?

my sky only says my line finsihed in april which was when my dlm was going on.

And says max of 16mb which i can only get 1.3

So will I get faster speeds? is it for everyone, no mention in that artical about everyone seeing a difference.

      Thanks

Re: Sky's new faster BB email?

You may get faster speeds if your line had previously been configured poorly (that's what DLM will do)

You may get faster speeds if you were currently getting around the 15Mb mark.

You may get faster speeds in relation to your upload speed.

As ISITME suggested, there are plenty of threads on this topic. The thread that the article links to has 11 pages and c700 posts.

Re: Sky's new faster BB email?

Serious this is not what i am asking....

My neighbour gets 1.2 and I get 1.3, so we have been set correctly months ago.

Are sky upgrading the lines were we would get faster speeds, if we received this email?

I have read the threads ect... but only received the email a day ago or 2.

I just wanted to know, are they upgrading the lines.

      Thanks

Re: Sky's new faster BB email?

No, they are doing no physical work to the lines all they are doing is moving the current maximum cap from 16mb - 20mb, if you were not getting near the 16mb max before then you will see little or no improvement to your download speeds.

You should see a little improvement to your upload speeds though.

Re: Sky's new faster BB email?

      Okay, 3rd time lucky.

1 - Sky are re-profiling all lines which means that you may get faster speed (DLM)
2 - sky are increasing the cap to 20Mb, so those close to the 16Mb cap may get faster download
3 - sky are increasing the upload speed.

Seriously, that is what sky are doing and as you have now received your email, then you will be going thru the above shortly.

You may have gone thru DLM before when Sky was trialing it.

I know it's not the answer you are hoping for, but that is what Sky are doing.
