What does it say? If your line is going to be retrained it should say so.

Re: "Sky Broadband is about to get faster" email

Yes I got an email as well...

      Hi

Great news - Sky's fastest broadband service is getting even faster. You could also enjoy a better service overall with improved reliability and stability in your line connection. And all for the same low price.

We thought a better service needed a new name: Sky Broadband Max is now called Sky Broadband Unlimited.
It's superfast with truly unlimited usage.

      Broadband line improvements could
      be coming your way

Better still, you won't need to wait long for these improvements, they're happening over the next few weeks.

      • We'll check different speeds and settings on your line to make sure you're getting the best possible broadband experience.

      • While we do this, you may see slight fluctuations in the speed of your connection - don't worry, this is normal.

      • You can track the status of your line by signing in to My Sky.
Click on the 'Broadband Service Details' section to see the current status and the maximum upload and download speeds your line
      can handle.

Find out more about the changes to Sky Broadband Unlimited here.

      Share more with increased
      upload speeds

Sky Broadband Unlimited is broadband as it should be with superfast speeds and truly unlimited usage. It's perfect for families who use the internet lots. So you can download films, upload photos, surf and email to your
      heart's content.

Our maximum upload speeds are increasing from up to 768Kb to 1.3Mb depending on your location and line quality. This means that, faster than ever before - you'll be able to:

      • Upload photos and video clips to share with friends and family

      • Upload files to send via email - great if you're working from home.

If your line is already running at the fastest download speed it can support, there will be no change to your download speed at this time. If your line changes in the future, it will be checked again to see if we can improve the speeds then.

Great!!! No mention of not unplugging or powering off your router. No wonder the upgrading process is a shambles.

When you receive this email the process can start at any time.

Your router will reboot automatically, there is no need to reboot manually, in fact it can hinder the training process. Most find that the resyncs occur in the early hours, probably so that normal use will not be effected.

Re: "Sky Broadband is about to get faster" email

Something has changed this morning, last week I was getting
Connection Speed 8191 kbps 397 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 27.3 db
Noise Margin 9.8 db 22.5 db

Today when i checked the upload speed had increased.

Connection Speed 8191 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 27.3 db
Noise Margin 8.8 db 16.5 db

My Sky still reports line testing not being done.
