Not much better than dial up!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, Sorry to ask this question again but I am at my wits end. I have VERY slow internet speeds. I have read through the other threds and still cant work out why.

      My details are as follows:-

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 379 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 53 db 33 db
Noise Margin 28 db 16 db

Two weeks ago I was getting 3.2 megs download. Just has BT round to check the line and all they found was a loose wire but still slow internet.

Any help will be greatly appricated.

Give Sky a bell and tell them that you have had a line fault fixed by Openreach so could they now uncapp your line please.

I should think it was an attempt by Sky to get you a stable speed, but you now have a huge noise margin as the fault on the line has been repaired, (do you know where it was?)

Oh did he!! The loose wire outside sounds about right. Best of luck with Sky later.

After a 32 min call to sky, which including talking to a american woman telling me to try this and that which I have allready done and put on hold for 5 mins, got through to a realy nice lady who was realy helpful and sorted all my problems and has fine tuned my internet. For once I am quite inpressed with the help I got from Sky. Goes to show sometimes it is worth ringing them first to see if they can sort it out.

You got through to the Philippines who then transferred you to CST who configured your line. Good result, however.

Edit: I really do not understand why sky do not give experienced and compenate tier 1's line configuration logins...
