      is this right?

      Hi,

      Firstly, great website!

I've just connected to skybb this morning, im pretty sure i should be hetting about 14Mb but im only gettin connected at :

      DownStream Connection Speed 7645 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 764 kbps

      here is some more info

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7645 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 31.0 db 17.7 db
Noise Margin 15.2 db 13.0 db

i signed up for the max package.

is there a training period for my line?, as ive only been connected to sky for a couple of hours now, TCP optimiser has made no difference.

      Thanks in advance!

You should connect at a higher rate than that. Have you tried rebooting. If it makes no difference give sky a call (and good luck)

      Welcome to the site dijital

Very good stats as if as dingdong suggests and rebooting doesn't help the a call to SkyBB TS should be your next call.

You're line might not be able to handle the Max speed.Tier 1 should do a 'DSL Availability Check' which'll tell what speed you're line can handle & a Swish Test'll tell you what you should be getting.
We're getting a few who have signed up for the Max but in reality can only get a lower package.

ok, i havnt rang sky bb ts yet, i had a play with my extention cable and managed to get the SNR down to between 13.3 and 13.8, it seems to change allot about every 20 seconds, but its allways between 13.3db and 14db (generally around 13.7 to 13.9), is this normal ( the changing snr i mean)

      thanks

oh, also the drop in the snr has not changed my connection speed

i have no idea why the router was giving me those figs above, as i rebooted and it went back to what it was previously.

anyway after opening up my ancient main box and giving the connections a clean im now getting :-

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 9504 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 27.0 db 18.5 db
Noise Margin 7.6 db 13.0 db

while i am happy with the improvement, im sure i should he getting more.
