but i realised that it takes other routes, its so annoying to see most people on here have a better upload than my download LOL, but there attenuation is >20 and mine is 60 =/ i wish i could do something... and i dont want cable as its a real bad rip off.

You can do something, you could move closer to the exchange

      Re: Strange Speed Changes

I can upload around 61kbps, wheras before it was about 40kbps

its so strange how they can make the upload faster, but download slower :S

      Re: Strange Speed Changes

Not strange at all. The limiting factor for your upload speed was the old ADSL2 service you were on, now that you've been put on ADSL2+, we assume, that limit has been removed and now you're getting as much upload as your line can handle. The limit for you download is down to your line length, etc and it seems you are now worse off for going on to ADSL2+, hence the drop in connection speed.

      Re: Strange Speed Changes

Why do sky do this, if it results in a slower connection speed ?

It is an automatic thing when the line is DLMed, a pain for you but for most it will enable better speeds.

      Re: Strange Speed Changes

Having had a look at your past stats, Is my line capped?? I would say you have definitely been moved from G.DMT to ADSL2+. What you do about it is up to you. You can ask Sky to move you back to your previous mode and this can be done quite easily with the right agent, or you can wait it out and see if there is any improvement. I doubt if there will be as your noise margin is very low as it is.
