Re: Which faceplate is best for my needs?

Right, the best filter faceplate is the BT one, connect it up using the instructions which come with it ie

The wire which at present connects to "2" connects to "2" of the filter faceplate. The same with "5" and "3".
The wires which connect to "1" "6" and "4" you may leave disconnected.

The BT one is best, because I have fitted lots of them and had no problems at all with them.

Does the fact that the BT one is designed for an RJ45 plug cause any problems? I know the RJ11 will fit and work, but this has put me off using them in the past. I have only fitted half a dozen and these have all been the XTE-2005, ADSLNation, not the clone. No complaints so far

Re: Which faceplate is best for my needs?

No not really, have a look at yours Tom and you will find it will also accept a RJ45.

When making leads for a short run from the faceplate filter to the router I always use a RJ45 for the filter end. I think they are a better fit, and if I had my way the line socket on routers would also be a RJ45, but this would no doubt cause a lot of confusion between it and network sockets.

Re: Which faceplate is best for my needs?

This is the one imho that I'd go for - BT ADSL Faceplate for NTE5, 6 Way Version(NTE2005)

      or cheaper here:

      ADSL Nation LTD.

I've tried both this NTE-2005 and the XTE-2005 and the NTE feels better quality and ever so slightly performs better, but not by much.
