      Slow speed in Glasgow

Hi, I'm new to all this and hoping for some help.
I have Sky Unlimited and normally get download speeds of approx 4.5mb. This week though, it's dropped to approx 0.5mb.

I've run virus checks etc and tried resetting the router loads of times. I don't know what to do next, so can anyone help??

You are syncing at over 4mb, are you using wireless? if so try a wire.

You can move the channel number in on the router, start at 13 and work down, it may be that someone else hs a new wireless device and they are interfering.

      Re: Slow speed in Glasgow

I've tried changing from channel 6 to various others, but when I do, I can't connect wirelessly. I have to revert back to using an ethernet cable.
do I need to change something on the laptop for the other channels?

No, it should be automatic. If there is interference with all the wireless frequencys, the only option is a wire or homeplugs.

Try giving inssider a go. This will tell which wireless frequencies are being used in your area.
