I believe the tie pairs are the connections that link your link in the green street cab to the cable going to the exchange, so times these connections can be come faulty, I think.

Well. As they said a new router arrived. It was a netgear v2. I thought I'd best connect it up just in case the old one stopped working. That netgear is brill compared to the sagem. Thw web interface is quick and I can enable remote configuration too!

I got a call back from someone in tier 3 and he made some adjustments to the 16383 I was getting. Its more stable since he tweaked the settings.

      They are now..

      System Up Time: 31:12:27
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 4062010 8492497 0 1903 24901 31:11:37
      LAN 100M/Full 8442619 4096229 0 26214 2830 31:12:23
      WLAN 11M/54M 0 0 0 0 0 00:00:00
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 18012 kbps 1161 kbps
Line Attenuation 27 db 12 db
Noise Margin 5 db 7 db

Up for over 31 hours too!

I'm well pleaded. Thank you everyone who tried to help.me.
