      Generally Slow Browsing Speeds

      Hi,

Over the past 8 weeks I've noticed a huge decrease in the general speed of browsing, and other things such as VPN traffic. I'm currently on Sky's premier 'Unlimited' package.

My router stats show that i'm syncing with the exchange at approximately 15Mbits as does the speed test below, but these figures do not show the general experience I'm faced with everyday.

I'm confident I'm hitting the exchange at the advised speed, but Sky's network must be totally saturated based on my experiences.

Has anyone else noticed a general slow down of traffic across the Easynet/Sky network?

I'm unable to do basic browsing in a timely manner and youtube videos stall halfway through. I'm not even able to watch the skyplayer or live sky feeds through the computer with out it constantly buffering. No one at Sky has resolved the problem with the call being escalated to Client Services over a month ago.

I'm very technical experienced and have recently reset the modem back to factory defaults, rebuild both my machines (Apple & PC), connected both to the router over Ethernet but without any knowledge of the Easynet infrastructure or network topology, I'm totally stumped.

I telecommute, but currently my connection is unusable and I get better results using a 3G wireless broadband card. My HD subscription is due to expiry next month, so you can be sure that I'll be moving to a decent ISP if this issue isn't resolved.

      Ideas?

I would try the test socket if you have one, SNR is abit low for your attenuation, see test socket link below for details.

Also you could try Dr TCP, link below should speed up your browsing speed.
