Can anyone please help analyse my data..would be really greatefull

Hi all this is my first post and i haven't got much of a clue when it comes to what speeds i should be getting and what i should not.

I live around 3km from my exchange which is denton burn. I have listed the info below from my router and after talking to sky they have set 5376 as my max download speed. I have the old bt faceplate so have ordered the i-plate which should be here tomo to help improve things on my line and hopefully increase my speeds.

Question one Do you think the i-plate will improve my speeds?

Question Two Are my speeds correct below or are they slow i have just bought new filters and all wiring same speed even when plugged into master socket?

Question Three If my speeds are low i take it i will have to ring sky solutions team to get them to increase speed manually or does this happen automatically?

      Thanks in advance

1 The BT iplate will only help if you have extensions coming off the master socket.
In fact its a waste of money, the same effect can be achieved by removing the bell wire (pin 3) from you extension wiring.
There is a tutorial about it on the site.
or see here DSL ZoneUK - Improve your speed - Extension wiring and Disconnection help
Regarding your download speed etc, post your router statistics.

old bt faceplate so have ordered the i-plate
If you have the old type BT socket the iPlate will not fit and as mentioned it is a bit of a waste of money. If do you have the type of socket it will fit (NTE5 link below) you would be better buying a filtered faceplate, especially if you have extensions.

If you have an NT5 remove the faceplate and plug the router/filter direct into the socket you will find behind it. Post your stats from there. When you have the faceplate off, check that all of your fixed extensions are dead.

It is a pity you did not come here before splashing out on an iPlate

      Hi

I do have extensions off my socket and it is the one that will benefit as i checked before buying the i plate.

Here are my router stats and how do i upgrade software if there is a newer version and will it improve things?

Re: Can anyone please help analyse my data..would be really greatefull

As directed above, remove the faceplate of the master socket and plug directly into the test socket, this will give you your best connection and stats.

Post them again and we can tell what if anything the rest of your wiring is doing to your connection.

You would be MUCH better with a filtered faceplate, an i-plate does nothing except remove the ring wire which you can do yourself by pulling it out!

Is this from the test socket (ie, did you remove the two screws and plug into the socket behind). see my sig below for pics & details.

If you did, can you remove it again and check all the other phone extensions are dead (they should be if wired correctly).
