Unhappy Told on DLM but nothings happening!!

Got an email saying speed would be increasing soon, so kept checking my sky account and nothing for a few weeks.
So called sky only to be told i've been on DLM since the 5th.
I haven;t seen any variation in speed and no disconnections, the router stats are the same as they always have been.
My sky.com account still say nothing about me being on DLM, it says"Line testing is not currently in progress".
is it possible the guy on the phone was lying? and i'm not currently on DLM?

here's my current stats, what should i be getting on the 20meg service

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13789 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 29 db 15 db
Noise Margin 11 db 18 db

Surely no one on Sky would lie to you

It certainly doesn't look like you are on DLM. If you have received the email it will happen sometime.

I doubt if you will get near the 20Mb. It looks like your line is capped at the moment, as you should be syncing higher with your noise margin. Have you complained to Sky about speed/drop-outs?

No complaints to sky and no drop outs ever to the best of my knowledge.

Strange, check your stats again and if the noise margin is still in double figures, reboot your router and see if you sync higher. Your above figures should allow you to sync at about 16Mb.

Re: Told on DLM but nothings happening!!

You are definitely capped to 13789 and it appears DLM is not running, if it has it has not made a very good job of it. You can either wait until DLM is run or phone Sky again and see what they say. Your upload in particular could certainly give a good bit more. You could make this the basis of your call, don't mention download to Tier 1, just tell them you would like to get put through to CST to have your upload increased. When you get there, mention your download and they may be able to do something about it.

Re: Told on DLM but nothings happening!!

Someone in the Know has helped me out greatly and i thank them.

      New stats
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15974 kbps 1080 kbps
Line Attenuation 30 db 15 db
Noise Margin 7 db 8 db

Was originally over 16000 and something when i checked router, but i rebooted router and it's dropped to 15974kbps.

Getting 13Mbps real term downloads up from 11.2Mbps.

      Thx again.

Re: Told on DLM but nothings happening!!

That is pretty good. The line would be set to over 16000, but if you booted with a low noise margin it would resync at its best speed. Provided your noise margin does not fall any more, you should be fine.

Re: Told on DLM but nothings happening!!

Due to traffic/contention @ the time i rebooted the router would that make it sync lower?
      If i rebooted @ a less busy time could i re-sync higher?

      Thx

Re: Told on DLM but nothings happening!!

Yes, provided your noise margin was above the default of about 7. If you do, you are liable to drop out if the margin falls low again and will resync at a lower speed. You can try it, but if you do drop, don't bother phoning Sky as there is nothing they can do about it. I would be inclined to leave it, you are only going to gain a few kilobits.
