    Sky Connect constantly slow, might be my phone line??

    This is a discussion on Sky Connect constantly slow, might be my phone line?? within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; thanks for all advice guys!! Going to get ADSL24 LLU I think......

      Aren't ADSL24 resellers for O2/BE? Is it not cheaper going direct?

      Hi you can also check out the O2User - Unofficial help and support for O2 which is Skyuser sister site there is a few of O2 BB users are Skyuser members O2 Home Broadband - Homepage I am sure they still have the July deal carrying on through August. What ever you decide I hope all goes well

      I just performed a BT speed test...

      Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
      Your DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
      IP profile for your line is - 350 kbps
      Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 310 kbps

      Isitme said that my syncs were low so throttling is not actually my issue... my connection used to be great and has only become like this in the last couple of weeks.

      Any suggestions please?

      Take your stats from the normal position and from the test socket, post them here for comparison.

      I don't have a test socket the socket that the BT line comes in first to from outside is just a standard socket, not an NTE5

      what do I do?

      OK after a little more research I have an old-style master socket, I will still run a test through it and see what happens

      You could disconnect the ring wire from Terminal 3 on the Master socket, this may help.

      I disconnected Wire 3 in the master socket, and ran the test through the master socket

      IP profile for your line is - 350 kbps
      Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 356 kbps

      From the ADSL Exchange Checker I get this about RAG:

      RA ADSL: Line has over 75dB loss. adsl is unlikely, but will be tested by an engineer on-site
