    New to sky connect any chance of some advice?

    This is a discussion on New to sky connect any chance of some advice? within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; i see its just on there site there braintree exchange says its live but on sams exchanges search it says ...

      i see its just on there site there braintree exchange says its live but on sams exchanges search it says that the llu supplier of be is not im thought maybe the search could be out of date no? one thing i no is i have talk talk llu at my exchange but never been to sure with them i would have to cancel my sky talk as well i guess as they do not just do bb sorry for sounding stupid it just confueses me a bit lol

      thought maybe the search could be out of date no?
      There is every chance of that, Samknows is not always right up to date. If you contact them emphasise that you want their LLU service and are not interested if it is through BT. Get it in writing if you can.(email confirmation)

      yea might try that mate just 1 more thing tho sorry to keep going on is talk talk woth a try do u think? do i just have to ring sky up and say i want to cancel my bb as its only been active since the 3rd or do i just ask for a mac code? the reason i ask is that i need to cancel my line rental if i go with talk talk cos they dont do bb only, if on the other hand i was to use be could i use that with my sky line rental?

      cheers steve i saw that i believe orange cap the same as sky deffo looking into talk talk but not sure wat they are like as for the others never really heard of them

      It depends on the ISP you are going to, some accept a normal Sky rented line, others have been known to put obstacles in the way. Really, it is a BT compatible line so there should be no problem.

      As I have said before my neighbour has TalkTalk and is very pleased with it. They now own several ISPs, Tiscalli for one, so are one of the biggest ADSL suppliers in the country.

      thanks so much for all your help mate as talk talk are llu does this mean they wont traffic shape tho?

      just red that mate lol i have just been reading about bulldog bb which i understand is tiscali they dont seem to traffic shape they only seem to do it if you are a heavy downloader and will only slow your connection down not anyone elses unlike sky where everyone has to suffer, on the exchange tho it says tiscalli is not available LLU but bulldog is how will this work as they are the same company now arnt they?
