it all depends what you want to use the connection for...gaming? get out now...

browsing is fine and streaming DOES work (a lot say it doesn't, i might be lucky) but even I've noticed a slow down of late...

Re: New to sky connect any chance of some advice?

One of the anomalies of Sky broadband is that it can take 10 days for the line to train, but the cooling off period is only 8 days, so be careful.

You have TalkTalk on your exchange and they are getting good reports now, unlike when they first started.

well like you say you have 8 days to cancel it that means the 11th is my deadline, on the 1st day of testing my connection was showing 3.5mb and it was great so its showing 1.5mb if say at the end of the 10 day playing around period my line settles at 1.5mb should i ring em up and find out why it cant stay at 3.5mb as it seemed stable with it yesterday? im connected to the master socket i believe not to sure tho is there a way of telling? i guess im just screwed really then

talk talk are showing 4.4mb for 40gb download a month but they want 30 connection fee

      newbuilder
My statement was RAMBo is different from DLM
craney13 Profile is not stuck it is in Training
So, what is the bRAS profile? It is a setting that controls the rate at which you can download information from the internet REGARDLESS of the download speeds that you think you can achieve or your ISP says you have.
IANTE If the over capacity is slowing daytime down and the Traffic Shaping is called on to assist
when will the training be able to give true and positive readings
IANTE yes the traffic shaping will affect it but the day time speed variance is down to the training period as it's a new connection..
      .what about
the Connect product is changing from using BT Centrals to IP Stream Connect.
If I was Wrong maybe someone can tell me where I was Wrong
craney13 I hope everything improves and all goes well

BE will supply you with the same rebadged product you have with Sky, just under a different name. If you are moving go to one of the LLU suppliers, if you don't you will be subject to some kind of throttling as all the others use BT ADSLMax and re-sell it under their own brand name.

Re: New to sky connect any chance of some advice?

I know what you mean if there is an ISP with LLu that is your best bet rather than Bt rebranded Product have a look at some of the connect threads where ex connect Customers have moved to and their advice and what they think of their new ISP
As Tom said that is the best
