Just because he said he was from Sky doesn't mean he was, have to be careful about these companies that are selling extended warranties for equipment, one recently went to the wall and left a lot of people in the lurch.

Re: Another slow broadband connect customer

      Hi
Thanks for the information. Talk talk look good, but did they not have a problem with there BB a while ago? Very cheap and very oversubscribed......hey, just like sky connect. Only thing is do talk talk do BB only? I'm confident I can get out of the sky BB no problem but the phone could be a different matter. Also I have a few free months of line rental due to another sky b%&* up. If not could anyone reccomend a good ISP thats not LLU.
      Thanks David.

I think you have to take the phone with TT to get the Broadband. In a recent poll CS rated TT as No1 for 8Mb suppliers. At under 18 including phone rental it is a good deal. Funnily enough, on their site, they compare there product to Tiscali, who they also own

As I have said before, my neighbour has it and could not be happier.

Re: Another slow broadband connect customer

Just a quick update on my progress with sky.
Sky technical services called today regarding my letter. Had to go through the motions (check filter, main phone socket, router stats) Then the nice tech man suggested "if you have any downloading to do, don't do it at night when your connections slow, do it in the morning!!! After I told him I wasn't paying for a service that was only usable in the morning I was passed to the next line of tech help. This fella was very helpfull and I was again told there was nothing they could do. Passed on to customer support, explained the situation again!!!! and was told this was, most probably, a kind of information gathering so my letter could be dealt with. Mentioned about getting out of my BB contract but will have to talk to Customer care dept who should be in touch soon.
      David.

Don't hold hold your breath waiting on the call, there is nothing they can do about the speed. At best you may be offered a discount.

I would get my MAC now but I need to sort out my contract. Only been with them a month and don't know if they will let me cancel with no fees.

I'm hoping that discount will turn into a goodbye
Anyone suggest a good isp thats not LLU as I don't think I could get out of sky phone package
