Wow who's charging 500 for slingbox and catcher?

Amazon do the slingbox pro for 160 and the catcher for 180 which is still very expensive but a lot less than 500.

The problem is the slingcatcher, sling media were doing a promotion during July for 100 sling catchers but they are very expensive, I assume that a lot of people don't use them.

That's much better. It will not be difficult to check if it is going to work, just set it up and try it from a friends or next door neighbours. If it works from there it should be OK from anywhere.

      Re: Sky Broadband and SlingBoxes

I think they recommend a minimum 256k for upload for the slingbox so i dont see you having any problems (the more upload the better pic quality obviously), i think 1.5Mb upload is needed to stream HD from a slingbox pro HD but doesnt seem to be availble in the UK yet

That may be enough for music, but I doubt if you could stream TV without constant buffering.
