      Was your sky box installed by a sky installer? If it was the phone cable will be coiled up behind the box or still in the box it came in. If you got the box second hand chances are you did not get one. The cable is the same as that used on a dial-up modem, if you have one of these use that.

      Unless you have multi room you do not need it unless you want to order box office events. If you don't want to do that just forget about it.

      thanks - i'll have to check all that later.
      so there is no functionality of going online with sky box unless i have multi room?

      If you connect your box to a telephone line you can use the interactive services like order box office films/events, itemised billing, games etc. Check if yours is connected by pressing
      services>4>7. If you have multiroom then you must have this connected.

      You do not go on line with the digibox, if you use the interactive services like box office, it simply dials up the Sky server and places your order. You have no control over it.
