Dramatic Speed Drop on Mid........Please Help

I have just returned from 2 weeks holiday to find my normal connection speed has dropped from an average of 1.5meg to 0.38meg.

I have removed the faceplate and connected to test socket with no improvement and I have disconnected my Sky box from extension face plate in other room.

      Can anyone help?

Ring Sky and tell them you have repaired your wiring and ask for the cap to be lifted. Be in the test socket when you do this or at least tell them you are.

It is possible DLM has run and left your connection crippled. With your attenuation and noise margin you should get much more than 1.5 Mb. More like 6 or 7Mb. Phone as Smithy suggests and if you don't get satisfaction the first time phone back and keep trying till you do. If DLM has run it will have set your speed low, some of the bods in Tier 1 will take this at face value and tell you you are getting as much as you can, don't accept it.

You can check if your line has been set by checking the broadband details in your MySky page.

No need to accept anything now.

I just received my MAC Code today, I called O2 and I am OFFSKI

Due to the poor connection speed I was previously receiving of 1.2Mbps I was totally infuriated with the download reduction to 10Gb and the unbelievably poor customer service from Sky which was exacerbated with the recent chop down to 0.34 mbps which I then had to pay for to get resolved through interminable queue's to their service department.

O2 were an absolute dream to deal with so I am looking forward to happier times.

Thanks for the hep offered by all.

Just to be sure, you are going on the O2 LLI equipment arn't you? not O2 access (I think that's what the rebadged BT one is called).
