I wouldn't bother with anything else.

Just remove the faceplate and plug the router into the test socket via a filter, this will isolate everything else in the house and tell us if it is your end or somewhere else. It should only take a few minutes to do.

Thanks for the help. I'm probably going to try it tonight as a certain someone is watching TV I'll reply tonight if it worked or not.

Ah yeah, but then why is a cable from the TV(s) connected to the phone line?

So you can use the interactive services on your Sky box. If you're within your 12 months Sky TV contract or you have multiroom you're contractually bound to to keep your Sky box plugged into a working telephone line. TBH if you just have the one Sky box there's no harm in removing the connection altogether.

The receiver connects to the phone to allow for box office orders etc. You do ntot need it for TV at all, unless you are on multiroom but even then it is only so it can call in every now and then to confirm it is still at the correct address.

I have never had my receiver connected to the phone line and I can assure you I can still watch TV

I've disconnected the TV wire and suddenly the speed is high enough to stream YT, so I'm happy. Will Sky be ****** off though? LoL

So long as you have had the box in question for more than 12 months, then you can disconnected it without problems.

As long as you don't have multiroom Sky are unlikely to notice, let alone do anything about it.

      What are your stats now?

Re: Slow Speeds Since Something Happened At the Exchange...???

Basically I DO have multiroom, and technically I've had the box for 1 and a half years, though 1 year of that was on an OLD contract payed by someone else(long story, don't ask) so would sky acre under these circumstances?
