    unstable line for the past month

    This is a discussion on unstable line for the past month within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; There are no contention issues or capacity issues with Sky's LLU , a fault at the exchange is more likely....

      There are no contention issues or capacity issues with Sky's LLU, a fault at the exchange is more likely.

      if it were a fault then surely sky would have known about this over the past month?
      and also.... we would be out of usage of the broadband?

      If it just a card or similar at fault, Sky would not know until they were informed about it and it could just be affecting one line, not the whole exchange.

      Well thats it i've now changed everything inside the house from where the cable comes in at the front ........new cable new master socket new filter new cable to router and its still crap in fact im sitting here with a noise margin of 4.2 and speed still over a meg less than last month time to email sky!

      That's ok, I could be wrong but it can only really be a line fault or an exchange fault if everything internal has been checked and replaced.

      I wonder how many cards Sky have in all their exchanges, it would stand to reason that more than one could develop a fault at a time but I suppose the line and a poor joint is more liklely.

      Time to get BT involved me thinks
